Spider Solitaire: how a round works
For a calm first round, focus on one decision. Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. Use another round to revisit a decision. Use the rule sheet as a reference. Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.
Two decks, one/two/four suits; fill every column before a ten-card stock deal. Free solo play, no wagering.
One thing to notice as you play
Take a moment to read the table. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot. Use another round to revisit a decision.
The goal to keep in mind
Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Work at your own pace.
The steps to play
- Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Complete same-suit king-to-ace runs to clear them from the tableau.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
How to use the controls
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Work at your own pace.
A useful example
A mixed-suit descending stack cannot move as one group. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.
A useful caution
Use the rule sheet as a reference. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.
